Visit the city of Kruja and see for yourself why is this city so famous about, visit the Rozafa Castle and take in the superb view of Shkodra Lake surrounded by mountains.
We will pick you up at Scanderbeg Square in Tirana, 9:00 am, and drive you up to Kruja town. Kruja was the most important Albanian town during the 15th century, successfully withstanding at least 3 major sieges by the Ottoman Empire. Here, you’ll step back into medieval history by visiting the castle and Scanderbeg Museum. Then, walk through the Old Bazaar and brows the old shops selling traditional handmade items. We will stop for lunch on a traditional restaurant.
Next, we will drive to Shkodra, the largest city in the north. Shkodra- known as the “capital of north Albania” is one of the oldest cities in the country, founded in the 4th century B.C. as the center of the Labeat tribe of Illyrians. Shkodra’s main tourist attraction is Rozafa Castle. Rising majestically upon a rocky hill west of the city, the outcroppings and battlements paint a blazing picture against the setting sun. Here we will visit the Rozafa Castle and take in the superb view of Shkodra Lake surrounded by mountains and a guided tour of the city. After this amazing experience we return to Tirana.
