What to Expect

Day 1. Tirane – Pogradec – Korce
Departing from Tirana at 9am or pick up from Mother Teresa Airport. We will drive toward south-east of Albania to the city of Pogradec. The road to Pogradec passes along the shore of Lake Ohrid. Pogradec is called the romantic city, because is the birth place of the famous writer Lasgush Poradeci. After Pogradec we will drive to the city of Korca. After the visit in the old town of Korce, we will have a meal in a typical Albanian restaurant. Korca has a traditional architecture, consisting of villa-like houses surrounded with balustrades and flower gardens. Korca is called also the small Paris. Overnight in this area will be in a nice village, which we will be hosted by the locals.
Day 2. Ersek – Leskovik – Ogren Overnight
After having breakfast, we will drive to Erseke. Erseke is located in the southestern Albania. Erseke is well known for its apple production throughout Albania. The most known places are Gropa e Kolonjes “Kolonja’s hole” and Gramozi’s Mountain, 2,523m above the sea level. We will make a stop at the small town of Erseka.
Leskovik is next. It is right at the Greek-Albanian border. Leskovik is located at an average height of 920 m above the sea level and lies at the foot of the Melesin Mountain and hills around it. Its villages are not only known for their historical and cultural traditions but also for the relevance of their agro-livestock. We will drive toward the village of Ogren to an organic farm to taste the traditional local food and experience the local life. We will spend the overnight at the local guesthouses.
Day 3. Permet – Lunch at the Traditional Guest house – Nivice Overnight
We will continue the tour on the old communism road toward Permet where we will enjoy a wonderful time in its thermal waters. Located 14 km from Permet, the Benje thermal baths with their sulfur-rich waters offer many curative effects. With temperatures from 26º to 32º Celsius, the healing waters are known for curing chronic diseases such as rheumatism, stomach conditions and skin diseases. In Permet you will enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful landscape full of flowers and green infinity. We will drive to the country side to a local village. Another wonderful experience is the preparation of the traditional pie “Lakror” on fire by the locals especially for us. We will be hosted again by the local guesthouses where we will experience the simple lifestyle but with wonderful people that find happiness in small things.
After tasting the delicious food and the amazing nature, we will be heading to Nivice, the Little-Known Stunning Natural Wonder, 790 m above the sea level overlooking theatrical canyons. Nivica Canyon is one of the longest canyons in Europe. It is known as the place of legends and myths, but nature seems to be the cult of its inhabitants. The canyons are accentuated by 11 waterfalls, one of which is 220 m high and probably one of the 10 highest waterfalls in Europe. We will visit one of them for sure. Afterwards we will dine and be accommodated in one of the guesthouses there, where we will have another local experience. The food is so delicious that will be for sure unforgettable.
Day 4. Nivice – Tepelene – Tirane
We will spend the morning at Nivice village with the locals and afterward we will get ready to head back to Tirana.
